La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Please consider membership in La Leche League...
Membership in La Leche League is $40 for one year. The membership fee helps support the Oakland/Berkeley group, our Northern California/Hawaii Area and the international organization. By joining La Leche League, you are helping mothers everywhere get the information and support that they need to have a happy, fulfilling nursing experience.
Additionally, membership benefits include a one year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine (a wonderful bimonthly about mothering and breastfeeding). Members are eligible to purchase life insurance through a group policy, which has very reasonable rates. Members are also welcome to use the Oakland/Berkeley Group's extensive library of books about all aspects of mothering and breastfeeding.

La Leche League Leader Assistance
La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who are accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. Local La Leche League Leaders are available for phone calls regarding meeting information and whenever you have breastfeeding questions that cannot wait until the next meeting. Please remember that we are mothers as well as volunteers working from our homes, so plan to time your calls accordingly. Thank you.
