La Leche League of Auburn, California

All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to come to our free meetings or call our Leaders for breastfeeding help.

The ideal time to begin attending is during pregnancy, because the information received in advance may prove vital to a mother when her baby arrives. Pregnant women may find it helpful to attend a series of four monthly meetings before the baby is due and to obtain a copy of the LLL manual, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING (available for purchase at meetings).

Meeting Information

Nursing babies are always welcome. You may begin with any meeting, come as often as you like, and ask any questions regardless of that day's topic. Our meetings rotate through the following topics:

  • The Benefits of Human Milk (June, October, February)
  • Baby Arrives: The Family & the Breastfed Baby (July, November, March)
  • The Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties (August, December, April)
  • Baby s Changing Needs (September, January, May)

We have occasional evening and/or weekend meetings where fathers are also welcome. Check with a Leader for details.

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who are accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. Leaders are ready to offer encouragement, support, information, and practical help whenever you have breastfeeding questions that cannot wait until the next meeting. We are happy to talk with you, so please don't hesitate to call. Since we are mothers, as well as volunteers, working from our own homes, we do appreciate your efforts to time your calls accordingly. Thank you.
